August 25th, 2006 - Tour Review by the Golden Goose
Kelowna
So the cops called the venue five times to get us to turn down. Hey what
do you expect when you ask the Belushis to play on the street corner in
downtown Kelowna? We rocked out despite the threats. Hopefully you guys
didn’t lose your liquor license. Thanks Janelle for the M&M's.
Nelson
We showed up in the middle of a marijuana march through town. High times
in Nelson. Where can you get a slice at 3am in Nelson?
Banff
One of our craziest shows. After we rigged up a broken kick pedal with a
key ring we brought down the Church. Banff girls like getting their various
body parts signed as much as the CD. Hope that permanent sharpie washes
off ladies. Thanks to David Spade for hanging out on stage with us.
Red Deer
The Belushi cooler got loaded up with 30 bottles for this single set night
so you can imagine the mayhem. 11am checkout time?… huh…what….ughhh.
Edmonton
Kids better watch out for a boy named Michael Rault who opened with a cool
set of firecracker blues. At 17 he couldn’t drink with us but we’ll
wait a couple years. Goose figured out he could stick his whole head inside
the kick drum at this show. Who needs ear drums anyway?
Lethbridge
When you pack 5 guys into 15 square feet you’re in for a show. Our
gratitude to owner Corey for opening up his heart & the bar to Shawn
Belushi at 4am. Thanks to the Lethbridge Ladies for the invite to their
“mansion” for a couple Belushis who passed on sleeping with
mice. The others had to pack up beers left by Elliot Brood before they could
find the floor space to sleep.
Calgary
Thanks to the local rag for printing an ad by a local tattoo shop whose
print read “EAT A FUCK”. It became the insult of choice for
the tour. Thanks to our Cowtown friends for coming to rock with us. Goose,
stop drinking on the floor of the club.
Canmore
The Ho was our best show of the tour. Having Stink Mitt open the night was
an unexpected treat. The bar staff bought us shooters off the first set
and it just got wild from there. You crazy kids in Canmore know how to have
fun. The second set Jag shot went down smooth and the crowd ate up the rock.
Cheers to Superfan who called out the set.

We had a last minute change to the schedule for our upcoming tour. The last show has been moved from Kimberly BC to Golden BC, at the Riverside Cafe'/Heavy Metal Lounge. The other stops on the tour are, in order, Kelowna BC, Nelson BC, Banff AB, Red Deer AB, Edmonton AB, Lethbridge AB, Calgary AB, and Canmore AB. See the LIVE page for full venue and date information. We will be heading out next Friday August 4th. Hope to see you all out!

Just about all the shows are booked for the upcoming BC/Alberta tour this August. Check out the LIVE page for details. There should be at least one more date coming in the next couple of days. We will also likely be hooking up a show or two in Vancouver just before we hit the road.

Welcome to the new website. We have changed the appearance of the site considerably, and put a few more goodies online. Hope you enjoy.
Our studio work is progressing nicely, and we should have a new EP of about six songs ready for a fall release. If anybody is interested in helping us put it out or distribute it, just send us an email.
We are also starting booking of another tour for the beginning of August. We are going to be heading east again, hitting alot of the same spots we did in March, and probably a few new ones as well.

The "10 Days Too Loud" tour was a blast, though I think a couple of the venues didn't really head the warning of our tour name. And we were turned down more than we ever have been! Anyway, every show was fun in it's own way, and a big thanks goes out to the folks at the Drake in Canmore, Christine at the Roadhouse, the girls in Calgary, and Christi and Nuke in Fernie. Kimberly was probably the best story of the tour, what with the John Wayne style honest to goodness bar brawl at the end of the night, and the nice young fellow that likes to chew tobacco and smoke.... at the same time!
We are finally headed into the studio tomorrow to get started on the next record. Might be an EP, might be an LP, you'll just have to wait and see.
Two more shows in Vancouver in the next couple weeks, so come on out because they will probably be the last two for a couple months. After these ones, some of the guys will be taking a bit of a holiday and we'll be busy finishing off the new record. We'll be back on the scene in time for summer though, and hopefully back on the road too.

The last few dates for the upcoming "10 Days Too Loud" tour are being firmed up. Check them out on the Live page. We had a few cancelations due to venue closure in Calgary, but we are working on filling that Friday night with another slot somewhere else. The tour will be 10 days of drunken abandon, winding it's way from Vancouver, through Banff/Jasper National Park, through Edmonton and Calgary, and finally home through the Kootenays of BC.
We hope to be going into the studio to lay down some new songs as soon as we get back from the tour. Discussions are still underway as to how those recordings will ultimately be released.
Finally, we have signed on to help Ferdy Belland of the Feminists celibrate his birthday at the Railway Club on March 29th. The night will see mini-sets by many friends and well wishers of Ferdy's, including us, the Feminists, Mongoose, Rich Hope and His Evil Doers, and Foster Kare.

Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and all that jazz. Mr. Magic Chords got a brand new analog delay pedal from Santa that he hopes to terrorize everyone with real soon.
Plans are in the works for a 10 day mini tour of BC and Alberta for the first part of March. Shows are already confirmed for many of the dates, so keep up on the details HERE.

The show at the Railway Club last weekend went really well, and all the bands kicked some serious ass. We are looking forward to the next gig at the Lamplighter on December 10th, with Midnight Dragons and Budokon. Should be a fun night. Plans are in the works for a BC/Alberta tour around March, so keep an eye on the site for updates.

Dr. Don Belushi has retired from his post as low end provider in The Belushis. He is looking forward to living out his golden years on a golf course near you. Look for the guy chain drinking Lucky Lager and screaming at some old blue hair about John Lennon. He will likely only have a few clubs and no bag to carry them in.
Saddled with the unenviable task of stepping into the Dr.'s shoes, please welcome the Golden Goose, AKA Leon Belushi. Hazing rituals are underway and GG is doing an admirable job keeping the infamous "wet sack" warm for Shawn Belushi's return from the USA. The Goose will fly (can geese fly?) with the Belushis for the first time at the Bellrays show, Nov. 19th at the Railway Club.
October 13th, 2005
Writing is moving along very smoothly for the next record, which we hope to start recording in December or January. We have also just been added to the Vancouver stop of The Bellrays current tour, hitting the Railway Club on November 19th. The Beladeans will also be playing, so we get to play with two bands that we have wanted to for a long time both in the same night.
Stay tuned here for more big news very soon, and watch for an all new version of the website in the next couple of months.

A couple of the dates for our trip down south have been booked now, so check the Live page for details. We are still looking for something between Seattle and Portland for September 10th, so please hook us up if you can help. Also, if you haven't already, check us out at our myspace page www.myspace.com/thebelushis and be our friends.
On the website front we should be adding some new live shots in the next while, and maybe a guestbook, so check back often.

The Island/Whistler tour was a lot of fun, and we didn't go completely broke. Look for a full tour update soon, but right now we have to get out and hang some posters for the show tomorrow night. That's at the Lamplighter with Rich Hope and His Evil Doers.
For those of you that tuned in to hear us on Citr last night, we apologize but we were bumped for some touring bands. Our appearance has been rescheduled for Thursday August 11th at 10PM. Check it out then.

Been a while since the last update, as we were busy moving out of Belushis house version 1.0 . The final tally from our 8 month stay there (this only acounts for the last four, as we took empties back halfway through) was twenty seven cases of beer empties, about sixteen 26'ers of various hard liquors, about that many wine bottles again, and fourteeen pop cans and bottles. Two kegs of beer were also consumed and returned in that time.
Belushis house 2.0 is now up and running in an undisclosed location in East Van. The rock machine hasn't been started up yet, as we want to make nice with the neighbours first, but the show will go on.
We are off to the island and Whistler next weekend, and then we have a couple shows in Vancouver at the end of the month. Check the live page for dates and times. We will be doing an on air performance on CiTR 101.9 at 10 PM on Thursday, July 21st. For those outside the broadcast area, you can listen HERE.
Check out the interview in this months issue of the Nerve Magazine, by Ferdy Belland. You can also read it HERE.
June 2nd, 2005
Rich in Broken Glass has landed at Belushis house! Email us for a copy, $10 postage paid. Otherwise, just show up at one of the shows and get it there. We will be doing an invite only party to celebrate on June 18th at Belushis house. The official CD release party is set for the PIc Pub on Canada Day, July 1st!
The Island tour is finally coming together, and most of the important dates are booked. Still looking for something in the Courtenay area on July 14th, so if you can help out give us an email. All upcoming shows are listed HERE.
